Christopher, Topher, was no ordinary boy. He was my best friend in the whole world. We were young, maybe five or six years old. We would share snacks and play other childhood games. He was my "Prince Charming". He did everything for his, "Princess, Marissa."
One day we were playing by the "Big Rocks", as we used to call them, and he used this big stick, it was his sword. He would wave it around gallantly, and shout at the top of his lungs, "I will save you my Princess Marissa from the fiery dragon!" He would jump around and I would scream, "Oh my lovely Prince! Save me! Save me!" The Fiery Dragon was one of the Big Rocks, and I would sit upon it and play along with my Prince.
Another thing that Topher and I did together was play in his backyard. He had one of those zip-shot ropes tied from tree to tree. We would pretend that he was "Indiana Jones" and I was one of his maidens, then we would, after our long adventure, go inside and have snack; our favorite, American Cheese-Kraft to be exact. That cheese was so creamy and salty, and it went down well with milk or apple juice.
Lastly, we experienced our First Kiss when I was at his seven-year old birthday party. His birthday was on Halloween and his mother threw a big party for our entire first grade. However, Topher needed me to see his new room, as they had also moved away to a new house, sadly, he wasn't across the street anymore. I went happily to see his new "pad" and he showed me his new bunk beds. He told me that whenever I come over to visit him, I can sleep on the bottom bunk and he will sleep on top to see my sweet face. He put his arm around me and said, "Marissa, I love you, and I want to marry you some day." I told him, "Really? Oh, Topher, you are truly my Prince!" He leaned over then kissed me, yes my first kiss from a boy!
Suddenly his mom and my mother rounded the corner and caught us in the kiss. His mother asked us, "What are you two doing?" Topher said that he wanted to marry me and then kissed me to seal the deal. Both of our moms just laughed and said that we were so cute.
I never went to his house after that, because it was far from my house; on the other side of Huntsville, but Topher still went to school with me, and we would chase each other around the gymnasium. About a year or two years later, Topher moved away, and I lost touch with he and his family. But the years we had together were priceless and worth noting, as they are an essential years to introduce my life to you.
